The 8th border checkpoint was opened between Vietnam and Laos

To develop “a border of peace, friendship, stability and cooperation” Laos and Vietnam opened new Lalay International Checkpoint between them.

To develop “a border of peace, friendship, stability and cooperation” Laos and Vietnam opened new Lalay International Checkpoint between the Saravane province in Laos and Quang Tri province in Vietnam. It is the 8th border checkpoint between two countries and the first one, linking Saravane province with Vietnam.

According to Laos Deputy Prime Minister, Thongloun Sisoulith, both parties plan to increase the number of common border checkpoints in nearest future. Lalay International Checkpoint is connected with Highway 15 A  and 15 B, which have potential to feed traffic to the border checkpoint.
