The widebody aircraft fleet around Southeast Asia is likely to triple within the next 20 years reaching 4,800 airplanes securing very promising business opportunities for the new project.

The U-Tapao airport is located in the province of Rayong, one of the three provinces (two other being Chonburi and Chachoengsao) of the Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), a pilot project for the economic development of Thailand’s Eastern Seaboard. The U-Tapao airport is currently being expanded; it is expected that after the second passenger terminal is built, the capacity of the airport will rise to 3 mln passenger per year compared to current 700,000 pax.
