Mae Sot Airport in Thailand to be expanded

Mae Sot Airport to be expanded, as the Department of Civil Aviation decided. The Mae Sot Airport is situated in Tak province just 3 kilometers from the Thai-Myanmar border.

Mae Sot Airport to be expanded, as the Department of Civil Aviation decided. The Mae Sot Airport is situated in Tak province just 3 kilometers from the Thai-Myanmar border.

It should be developed as the Thai gateway to Myanmar, which becomes more and more interesting tourist destination in the region. As expected the expansion will let to increase Mae Sot Airport’s capacity from 150 passengers to 250 passengers per hour.

This year new larger interim passenger terminal to be built and runway will lengthened from 1,600 metres to 2,100 metres. Next year the Airport also plans to build a much larger terminal.
