Since last Saturday, 10 May Immigration Bureau introduced new regulations for foreign citizens in Thailand. Primarily it concerns foreigners who stay in Thailand for long time without visa by making repeated visa-runs (border-runs).

Now foreigners are able to visit Thailand without visa just for one time, after that they should receive Thai visa in other countries or to leave Thailand by air and come back. The popular visa-runs when foreigners leave Thailand by the land border and come back in a few days with new stamp are now forbidden.

From 12 August Thai Immigration Bureau also plans to forbid repeated visa-runs by air, not only by land as it is now.
