Himachal Pradesh to Follow the Path of Ecotourism

The government is looking to develop a better infrastructure for sustainable tourism in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. By the end of this year, 25 destinations in the state will get ecofriendly lodging facilities in the form of log huts which will later become hubs for ecotourism in the region. 10 sites will be equipped for adventure activities and 31 route for ecotourism will be developed and offered to the visitors. The government is also putting efforts into creating nature parks and herbal gardens thoughout the state and planning to add 50 more forest houses to accommodate visitors.

The campagin encourages visitors to explore less known destinations in the Hymalayan region. It will also help the local rural communities to gain profit. 

Himachal Pradesh is famous for its trekking oppourtunities. The biggest city and the capital of the state, Shimla, was once the summer retreat for the British Raj and now lures visitors with its hill stations and chilly climate.
