Vietnam tightens control over taxis

Unlike in Thailand, where taxi drivers freely violate the rules, the Vietnamese authorities have decided to tighten control over the local taxi services.

Unlike in Thailand, where taxi drivers freely violate the rules, the Vietnamese authorities have decided to tighten control over the local taxi services. Black boxes and printers connected to the meters will be installed in the each taxi of Hanoi. It will help Authorities to improve monitoring of the fares charged to passengers.

The installation should be completed in July this year. According to the plans, Hanoi taxis will meet all international standards of quality and safety by 2016 year.
