Flights between Cambodia and Indonesia to Open Up Soon

Flights between Cambodia and Indonesia have been announced likely to start in three months which will strengthen tourist as well as diplomatic and trade ties. 

The issue had been much talked about, though air carriers doubt whether they would have enough passengers. The necessity of training the personnel, who provide domestic and international routes to join the ranks of tour operators, was mentioned. Making tourism more attractive for Cambodians as well as for Indonesians with the opportunity of their visiting new entertainment sites, creating package tours and perfecting the ones that already exist is the task of local tourism authorities.

Shopping tourism is named as one of possible variants to make travelling to Cambodia more attractive for Indonesians, the number of whom coming to the country reached 50,000 guests in 2017 showing a 2.3 per cent growth in comparison with 2016.6.1 mln foreign tourists are expected to visit Cambodia this year and 7 mln by 2020. This will bring $5.5 billion revenue and will help create about million jobs and develop tourism infrastructure.

Garuda Indonesia Airlines is planning to make a connection of Bali, an island in Indonesian archipelago, with Phnom Penh.




Yasothon Bun Bang Fai Festival to be Held from 11 to 13 May

Bun Bang Fai Festival, another name for which is the rocket festival, takes place in Isan, northeastern region of Thailand, with the biggest celebrations in Yasothon, and lasts 3 days around the middle of May every year before the beginning of the rain season and crop planting.

Non Nuoc Cao Bang Becomes a New Member of UNESCO Global Network of National Geoparks

The second geopark in Vietnam, Non Nuoc Cao Bang, established in 2015, has become a member of the UNESCO Global Network of National Geoparks. It was decided on April 12 at the 204th session of the UNESCO Executive Board in Paris.
