The Thai-Myanmar border point in Mae Sot to be expanded

As Pol Gen Pongnakorn Nakornsantiphap, Mae Sot border checkpoint’s director reported, 300 000 baht were allocated for its expansion.

As Pol Gen Pongnakorn Nakornsantiphap, Mae Sot border checkpoint’s director reported, 300 000 baht were allocated for its expansion to meet the growing number of travelers and the growing volume of trade. This point should increase its capacity in the frame of Asian Economic Community, which comes into effect 2015 year.

Mae Sot checkpoint is one of the eight most important at the Thai-Myanmar border, but now it’s in poor condition. As expected the construction will be finished in two months.
