The Maldives Open the First and Only Skating-rink on Beach

The guests of a five-star Jumeirah Vittaveli Resort in the Maldives can now enjoy skating on a first skating-rink opened with a wonderful performance of Evgeni Plushenko, a Russian Olympic Gold medal winner in figure skating.

The rink which is 87 square metres is spacious enough for small ice hockey matches and for figure skating jumps and elements. It is eco-friendly and is a really awesome thing on a tropical island. It is made of the newest material from Switzerland, Glice, which does not require low temperature.

The tourists can experience skating on ice viewing the Indian Ocean at the same time.

Evgeni Plushenko’s performance impressed those present. Later his wife and a five-year-old son joined him on the arena. The rink is open from 12 to 6 in the afternoon. Two hours of skating cost $75, the equipment is provided. Besides, after skating the guests are treated to an ice cream sundae and given souvenirs. The following visits cost $50. The price includes the equipment and the ice cream sundae. The rink is available for all ages, but the children younger than 8 should come with adults. Skating in the tropics will be an unusual experience in these latitudes.
