Bang Klam is also close enough to Songkhla Lake and Laem Samila Beach so that visitors can make a day out of their excursions. Wat Khok Piew is one of several charming temples on the lake’s Koh Yo Island while a selfie with the mermaid statue at Laem Samila Beach is a must have souvenir from Songkhla.

The governor of Songkhla oversaw ceremonies on Saturday which launched the province’s newest tourism attraction. Bang Klam weekend market now opens every Friday and Saturday and is a thriving spot to buy and taste the full repertoire of Thailand’s handicraft products and diverse culinary offerings.
