To support congested traffic during New Year celebration Thai Army will offer 227 military bases along main highways as a rest areas for drivers.

To support congested traffic during New Year celebration Thai Army will offer 227 military bases along main highways as a rest areas for drivers. The period from 28 December to 2 January in Thailand was named "seven dangerous days", at this time the number of accidents because of alcohol and vehicle’s congestions increase several times. 

In the rest areas of Thai Army the drivers will be able to get medical first aid, fresh water, refreshing towels and route advice. Camping and recreational facilities will be also available for travelers at this time.

Thai police will cooperate with opposition during New Year holidays to ease traffic in Bangkok if they will hold demonstrations. Soldiers will also control traffic in new Year.
