The Pinang Kampai Airport is closed to commercial flights

Indonesian Pinang Kampai Airport at Dumai was temporarily closed to commercial flights because it hasn't passed a safety evaluation and it is in critical condition.

Indonesian Pinang Kampai Airport at Dumai was temporarily closed to commercial flights because it hasn't passed a safety evaluation and it is in critical condition. According to the Transport Ministry, “both edges of the runway were blocked by oil palm trees and acacia, that is why the airport’s technical operation had the potential for accidents”. The Pinang Kampai Airport is also not equipped with X-ray machine for passenger and baggage checks.

At this time only civil aircraft with less than 30 seats and military aircrafts can use the Pinang Kampai Airport. So now two airlines operate flights to this Airport: Pelita Air with Fokker 100 aircraft and Sky Aviation with Fokker 50. They serve two flights a day five days a week.
