Ho Chi Minh City endorses start up of water music demonstrations

The People’s Committee in Ho Chi Minh City has given the green light to a proposal to inaugurate water music performances.  Tai Nguyen Company tabled the plan to launch the audio-visual shows from a barge moored on the Dia Canal.

The committee’s deputy-chairperson explained that the shows would begin in September. Le Van Khoa added that the project had been endorsed but was subject to a few provisos. The main ones are that the shows are staged every evening and there are no admission charges.

Tai Nguyen also has to ensure the Nha Be District venue is big enough to accommodate audiences of 2,000, there is enough parking and safety procedures are set up. After the debut show, it will begin at 20:00 every evening.

Nha Be District is about 10kms south of Pham Ngu Lao and the downtown precinct of the Vietnamese city. 12GO ASIA’s travel specialists say water music performances will be the perfect complement for the city’s renowned water-puppet shows at Golden Dragon Water Theatre and the Villa Song Saigon
