Thai tourist office organises Bangkok food festival

The Tourism Authority of Thailand has confirmed a food festival in Bangkok will go ahead as scheduled this weekend. At a press briefing last week, TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn stated that the venue for the 2017 Amazing Thai Taste Festival was the plazas around the city’s Makkasan Station.

He continued by saying the four-day culinary extravaganza would be taking place between the 8 and 11 June. The event is being staged with the assistance of 40-plus caterers and companies and will combine 10 different themed zones.

The different zones will provide visitors with the chance of sampling Thailand’s full repertoire of tastes. These include its world-famous street-food specialities and its exotic range of fruits. Thai celebrity chefs have been draughted in to help and will be on hand to demonstrate the nuances of preparing delicious dishes.

A range of Thai spices, herbs and other ingredients will be on sale while music and other live acts round off the reasons to add the Amazing Thai Taste Festival to your activity itinerary this weekend. 12GO ASIA notes that Makkasan Station is a stop for Rail Link trains travelling to and from Suvarnabhumi Airport and is therefore easily reached from most districts of Bangkok.
