Miri hotel to stage Annual Borneo Jazz Festival at the weekend

The eagerly awaited Borneo Jazz Festival is due to wow fans of the music genre at a Sarawak hotel later this week. An eclectic line-up of jazz artistes will take to the stage at this open air fest in the grounds of the ParkCity Everly Hotel in the town of Miri.

The two-day fest kicks off in the daytime on Friday with drum and keyboards workshops. This is followed by Malaysian youth band performances. Fluorescent Collective, CaboCuba Jazz, Delgres and the Cape Jazz Band are the headline acts in the evening.    

Saturday’s schedule follows a similar format and includes a brass instrument workshop. Ensuing performances by the Michael Simon Asian Collection, Laila Biali, the Idang Rasjidi Syndicate and Osaka Monaurial are sure to provide a thrilling evening’s entertainment.

Miri is on the north coast of Sarawak State and Borneo Island.
