The provisional plan submitted by the Vingroup two years ago showed a 1,100 acre site which would cost US$500 million to develop. One side of the safari park would be dedicated to a low-rise resort bungalow complex, a hotel, parkland and playgrounds.
The People’s Committee noted that a safari park would provide domestic and international tourists with an appealing ecotourism attraction. Vingroup manages Phuc Quoc Island’s Vinpearl Safari Park. This follows a similar format with a zoo and safari park which are home to the likes of vervet monkeys, Bengal tigers, elephants, lions and giraffes.
Duong Dang Airport serves Phuc Quoc Island and has regular flights from Ho Chi Minh City. 12GO ASIA provides online reservations for this route on flights operated by VietJet Air and Jetstar Pacific.
