Bangkok Brit pub to host three day comedy fest

Bangkok’s Royal Oak Pub is putting the finishing touches to preparations for next week’s three-day comedy extravaganza. The Royal Oak is the main venue for the Magners International Comedy Festival, but the gala opening will take place at the Bangkok Westin Grande Sukhumvit Hotel on 23 March.

Matthew Giffen and Kelly Taylor will be among the six entertainers live on stage at the hotel’s Altitude lounge at 20:00. At the same time, a trio of Indian comics including Sunanda Sachatrakull will kick off the Magners International Comedy Festival in a hall above the Royal Oak.

After the opening night, the Royal Oak is the venue for two comic shows each evening on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 March. The organisers say at least three comedians will be live on stage at each of the six Bangkok shows.

Details about which comedians are scheduled to appear at the different shows are available on the Bangkok Comedy Club website. Tickets can be purchased here too or on the door at the two venues.

The Royal Oak Pub is located on Sukhumvit Soi 33/1 and is less than five minutes on foot from Phrom Pong BTS Skytrain Station. The Westin Grande Sukhumvit is close to Asok Skytrain Station. Comedy fans travelling to Bangkok for the shows will find 12GO ASIA is the most convenient choice when buying tickets.
