Jazz artiste Nguyen Le to play Hanoi French Culture Centre

French jazz maestro Nguyen Le will play the first of three Vietnamese concerts in Hanoi on Friday. The renowned artiste will be joined on stage by songstress My Linh, multi-instrumentalist Ngo Hong Quang, dan tranh zither player Nguyen Mai Le, flautists and a percussion expert.

The ensemble will perform live at L’Espace French Culture Exchange Centre in Hanoi on Friday 24 February and Saturday 25 February. After the Hanoi dates, Nguyen Le and crew will head down to Ho Chi Minh City for an additional date on Wednesday 1 March.

The songs for the three gigs are expected to focus on numbers from Nguyen Le’s latest album, Hanoi Duo, but some songs from an extensive back catalogue will probably be included too. Hanoi Duo pays homage to contemporary music in Vietnam with a fusion of different styles.

Although born in Paris, Nguyen Le is of Vietnamese descent. In a career stretching over thirty-plus years, Nguyen Le has been honoured with numerous accolades including the Django Reinhardt Prize.

Hanoi is a hub of culture in Northern Vietnam and there is usually some music or visual arts performance for cultural buffs to enjoy. People travelling to Hanoi from other locations in Vietnam or nearby nations will find 12GO ASIA has the best deals on tickets.
