Thai AirAsia increases Bangkok Mandalay flight frequencies

A Thai AirAsia director has announced the addition of extra flights to the Bangkok Mandalay timetable. Commercial-director Santisuk Klongchaiya says the frequencies will increase from once to twice daily with effect from 17 March 2017.

He noted that direct flights between the Thai capital and Myanmar’s second city had proved very popular with both Thai and Myanmar travellers. He explained visa-free arrangements between the two nations was one factor behind the popularity.

He added another was that Thais and foreigner enjoyed the convenience of Mandalay as a gateway to the city’s Mahamuni Temple, Shwenandaw Monastery and historic palaces. An additional bonus of entering Mynamar via Mandalay is that it is only a few hours by train from the fabled temples of Bagan.

Mr Santisuk finished off by saying medical tourism was the primary reason for the boom in inbound travellers from Myanmar.  Bangkok’s hospitals are famed for their reasonably priced, high quality care and treatments.

12GO ASIA offers ticket reservation services for Thai AirAsia flights from Bangkok Don Mueang Airport to Mandalay as well as onward trains to Bagan. We also sell tickets for Bangkok Airways flights between Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport and Mandalay.
