Hanoi museums to collaborate on promotional activities

The directors in charge of Hanoi’s museums have signed an agreement which will see them jointly promote their exhibits. The city’s National Museum of History director told reporters the facilities would collaborate on improving collections, their online presence and arranging group tours.

Nguyen Van Cuong said the memorandum of understanding would last until 2020 when it is expected to be replaced by an accord linking all museums nationwide. As part of the dawn of the new era, the museums will organise guided tours to each other’s museums and develop enhanced internet websites.

The plan is to launch virtual exhibitions and also build in user-friendly links between the websites of the different museums.  In addition to the history museum, other facilities participating in the collaboration include the Presidential Palace Historical Site and the Vietnamese Ethnic Group’s Culture Village.
