Final weekend of Aladdin pantomime performances at Bangkok theatre

Theatregoers and fun seekers in Bangkok this weekend have the rare chance of seeing the pantomime Aladdin live on stage. The Bangkok Community Theatre is staging five performances of Aladdin at the Thai capital’s Creative Industries at M Theatre on Phetchaburi Road.

The performances provide audiences with a scintillating fusion of comedy, dance and singing in which Aladdin chases his dream of wooing the gorgeous princess. The stage version differs from Disney’s in that the set is designed to represent the Beijing in days of yore and draws the audience in with active participation.

Aladdin in pantomime performances are scheduled to begin at 19:30 on Friday and Saturday evening and at 18:00 on Sunday. There are matinee shows at 14:30 on Saturday and at 13:30 on Sunday. Tickets are still available for some of the shows and can be purchased online from the Bangkok Community Theatre website.

The Creative Industries at M Theatre is roughly midway between the Ramkhamhaeng SRT and Phetchaburi MRT train stations. There are plenty of buses on Phetchaburi Road for the last leg of the trip. 12GO ASIA offers convenience when buying tickets for travel in and out of Bangkok when going to see Aladdin or attending other events on the city’s eclectic annual calendar.
