India will help Indonesia to build a new airport

The first foreign joint venture will become the second airport in Yogyakarta, which should reduce the functioning capacity of the first one.

The first foreign joint venture will become the second airport in Yogyakarta, which should reduce the functioning capacity of the first one. For the first time in the history of India-Indonesia relations India's GVK Power & Infrastructure will own a major stake of the new airport. It should clarify that the deal is not completed yet.

It is expected, that the construction works will start in 2015 year with operations starting as early as 2017. The civil aviation of Indonesia is currently on the rise: the most of airports don't cope with increasing capacity.
