Royal Passenger Liner confirms Pattaya Hua Hin ferry fares

The operator of the soon to launch Pattaya Hua Hin ferry service has confirmed the fares and departure piers. The ferry service to debut on the 1 January 2017 will provide a practical means of crossing the north end of the Gulf of Thailand and connect two of the nation’s most beloved seaside towns.

The only downside to the new service is cost. Royal Passenger Liner says a one-way fare for the crossing will be THB1,200. This is almost three times the price of the journey by VIP bus. 12GO ASIA provides online reservations for Bell Travel’s luxury 24-seat coaches.

Royal Passenger says the arrival and departure terminals will be Pattaya’s  Bali Hai Pier and Saphan Pla Pier in Hua Hin. Both piers are centrally located and offer passengers easy access. A plus of the ferries is that journey times are shorter than for buses if the sea is calm and not choppy.

Bell Travel buses take 5 hours 30 minutes to travel between the two towns whereas Royal Passenger says taking the direct sea route across the gulf should only take two hours. Bus departure times are more convenient and depart from both locations late in the morning and arrive just in time for a swim before dinner.
