Vang Vieng to stage second international music festival in December

Vang Vieng District council has confirmed the dates for its second annual international music festival. At a media briefing staged late last week, the audience was told the fest would be held on the 16 and 17 December and tickets would be on sale in the near future.

Smart Event Organisers is staging the festival and spokesperson Anouluck Pathammavong explained that both domestic and international music stars would be attending. Big Ass and Labanoon from Thailand plus New York based DJ Aaron James are among the artistes who have confirmed they will be strutting their stuff for festivalgoers.

Mr Pathammavong said the two days of musical performances were designed to promote the delights of Vang Vieng and the surrounding regions of northern Laos.  He noted that improvements for this year’s fest were a high-quality sound system and increased security and crowd control personnel.

The organisers say 40,000 music fans descended on Vang Vieng for the first festival last year. The number of people expected to attend this year is the same. 12GO ASIA advises making your travel reservations in advance to ensure you don’t miss this unique happening.
