Thai authorities offer Don Mueang Airport to Grand Palace shuttle buses

The Airports of Thailand is temporarily offering shuttle services from Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport to the Grand Palace. The service is free and is available every day from 08:00 to 17:00. It will run until 15 November 2016.

Buses depart on the hour and the boarding point is outside Gate 15 at the airport’s Terminal II. The buses drop passengers off outside the Royal Rattanakosin Hotel. The hotel is just across the road from Sanam Luang Park, the Emerald Buddha Temple and the Grand Palace.

Don Mueang director Petch Chancharoen explained that the shuttle service was being laid on to provide convenience for mourners wishing to offer their final respects to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. He carried on by saying the airport was a hub for low-cost airlines and two-thirds of its customer base were Thai. 

The Bureau of the Royal Household also confirmed today that the palace and the Emerald Buddha Temple would remain closed to tourists until the 31 October. People travelling to or from Bangkok will find 12GO ASIA provides convenience when buying bus, train or aeroplane tickets.
