The palace is close to Sanam Luang Park and the minister says 30 of the bus routes leading here will be free for all travellers until Sunday evening. Bangkok’s transport operators plan to lay on extra buses from Metro and Skytrain stations to the park and these will be free too.
Express Boat ferries on the Chao Phraya River will also be free until Sunday. The State Railway of Thailand says it plans to add extra trains to its timetable for the weekend to allow travellers from the provinces more choices.
Minister Termpittayapaisith stated that Thai Airways and its budget subsidiary, Thai Smile, would not apply surcharges for passengers who needed to change their flight times or dates this weekend. Thai Smile will be increasing its flight frequencies to facilitate travel to Bangkok.
