He carried on by saying that the northeast would be the only area of the country to escape unscathed. He noted that the central provinces of Thailand including Bangkok could expect around two-thirds of a centimetre of rain a day and this would likely fall in the late afternoon or early evening.
Mr Sakudomchai said the rainfall could prove critical as some low-lying regions and areas near rivers were already either flooded, or at risk of flooding, and the additional rain could exacerbate this situation. District officials in the provinces of Sisaket, Nakhon Ratchasima and Nakhon Sawan have all reported extensive flooding caused by swollen rivers overflowing their banks.
Travel ticket agency 12GO ASIA reports that intercity buses and trains are mostly running to schedule. The 12GO team did note that travellers catching buses, trains or aeroplanes should leave plenty of time to get to their departure stations or airports.

News in AsiaThailand’s meteorologists say the rainstorms battering most regions of the country will continue for a little while yet. Meteorological Department director-general Wanchai Sakudomchai explained that heavy rainfall during certain parts of the day will last for another week at least.
