Top German ballet troupe lands in Bangkok with a Christmas Carol

Performing arts fans in Bangkok this weekend have the rare opportunity of seeing a leading German ballet troupe in action. The acclaimed State Ballet of Karlsruhe will be staging two performances of The Nutcracker, A Christmas Carol at the city’s Thailand Cultural Centre.

The Youri Vamos-Michael Scott adaption of the Tchaikovsky inspired ballet has wowed audiences around the world since its debut in Bonn almost three decades ago. The 50-strong troupe of ballet artistes will follow the adventures and travails of the Nutcracker, Clara and legendary miser Scrooge.

The first performance is scheduled for 19:30 tomorrow evening and will be followed by a matinee performance on Sunday at 14:30. The acts are 70 and 60 minutes long respectively with an interval of 25 minutes between the two.

The Nutcracker, A Christmas Carol is a part of the 18th International Festival of Dance and Music 2016. ThaiTicketMajor is the main agent for tickets. There are still some tickets available for both shows.
