The Authority of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and Indonesian Government founded a task force which would deal with delayed flights in the short and long term.

According to its members the main reason of increased delayed flights’s number is poor infrastructure in the Airport. As Transport Ministry reported, 15% or 20% of 1,125 flights are delayed each day for the period from 15 minutes to 1 hour. Terminals 1 and 2 have the greatest troubles.

Moreover the Airport’s capacity has been increased on 162%. Now it serves more that 57.7 million passengers per year, but planned capacity is only 22 million.
