Japan supports train system project in Bangkok

Within the confines of program to enlarge railway infrastructure’s export to Asia Japan will help Thailand with construction of the train system in Bangkok. East Japan Railway, Toshiba and Marubeni companies will provide the building of 23-kilometre rail line with 16 stations.

Within the confines of program to enlarge railway infrastructure’s export to Asia Japan will help Thailand with construction of the train system in Bangkok. Under the guidance of Bangkok Metro Public Co. East Japan Railway, Toshiba and Marubeni companies will provide the building of 23-kilometre rail line with 16 stations.

Project's total cost is about 12.5 billion baht. The finishing of construction work and the launching of the new train system are planned for 2016 year.

Japanese experts will provide maintenance services for 10 years. 20 specialists will stay in Bangkok. Japan will also build the rail yards, signals and power grid and will supply 63 train cars.
