Tak to stage 15th annual Bhumibol Dam cycle rally

Local authorities in Tak Province are preparing the venue for next week’s Bhumibol Dam International Mountain Cycle championships. The three-day tourney begins on Friday 26 August and ends on Sunday 28.

The activities begin on the Friday with a Bike for Health rally at 15:00. Participants will cycle around a route in Tak Town which starts at the shrine of  King Taksin and goes around Provincial Hall.

The Saturday sees the competitions begin in earnest with a series of races designed to suit cyclists of all abilities and fitness levels. There are family and group routes plus a 60km marathon to Bhumibol Dam.

On Sunday 28, Bhumibol Dam is the venue for an international mountain bike race which will see competitors pedal around a 12km circuit three times. There is a shorter amateur race too which also takes place in the morning.

Details of the entry fees and event times can be found on the website of the Tourism Authority of Thailand. Tak is around 430kms by road from Bangkok and can be reached easily when sourcing your tickets for travel from 12GO ASIA.

Thai AirAsia Expands Its Reach with New Routes to Shanghai and Kaohsiung

Thai AirAsia has broadened its route network with the introduction of new services to both Shanghai and Kaohsiung. The low-cost carrier (LCC) will operate five direct flights weekly between Don Mueang (DMK) and Shanghai (PVG), and four flights per week between DMK and Kaohsiung (KHH).
