Iconic UK rock band Queen adds Bangkok date to Asian tour

UK rock band Queen recently announced they would be playing a concert in Bangkok during their forthcoming Asian tour. The iconic band is due to play the city’s Muang Thong Thani Impact Arena on 30 September 2016 and will be joined by new frontman Adam Lambert.

Commenting on the Bangkok concert, guitarist Brian May explained that after more than four decades of world tours he was ecstatic to be playing Bangkok for the first time and also introducing Adam Lambert to a Thai audience. Drummer Roger Taylor stated that he too was excited by the prospect of the Asian tour.

Founded in the 1970s, the original Queen line-up featured May, Taylor, bassist John Deacon and singer Freddie Mercury. The band has scored worldwide hits with the likes of Bohemian Rhapsody and We Are The Champions. Mercury died in 1991.

Adam Lambert first teamed up with Queen in 2009 when they collaborated on a performance for American Idol. Subsequent triumphs for the blossoming partnership include the award-winning Queen Rocks Big Ben concert on New Year’s Eve two years ago.

Tickets for Queen’s Bangkok concert went on sale earlier in July. ThaiTicketMajor is the agent for tickets and says there are still limited options available at its Thai outlets and also from its website.
