Bangkok Siam Discovery mall to reopen after major revamp

The owners of Bangkok’s Siam Discovery Mall have scheduled a grand ceremony to mark its reopening following a major refurbishment. The ceremony is due to take place on 28 May and will celebrate the rebranding of the lifestyle mall as Thailand's biggest lifestyle specialism outlet.

Siam Discovery boasts 40,000-metres² of retail space. It closed last year to enable the THB4 billion make over to take place. Owners Siam Piwat say the new Siam Discovery will debut a number of world-renowned brand names for Thai shoppers and tourists.

Tom Dixon, Issey Miyake and Yayoi Kusama are among Siam Discovery’s new tenants while Adidas and Nike are launching their first concept stores in the country here. Siam Piwat executive-vice-president Charnchai Cherdchuqongthanakorn explained that the recreated Siam Discovery was a world-class facility that would help cement Bangkok’s reputation as the retail capital of Southeast Asia.

Sources close to Siam Piwat’s management claim no expense is being spared on the reopening ceremony and there is a budget allocation of THB300 million. People travelling to Bangkok for the opening ceremony, or any other major event, will find 12GO ASIA offers convenience when making transport reservations.
