Singer Tom Jones cancels Bangkok and other Asian concerts

A statement released on behalf of singing icon Tom Jones has confirmed the cancellation of his scheduled concerts in Bangkok and other Asian cities. In the statement, the singer said that he had regretfully had to call off the Asian sector of his world tour as a member of his immediate family was ill.

The statement finished off with an apology in which he said he was extremely sorry to have let down both fans and the concert organisers. The Welsh superstar was due to take the stage at Bangkok’s Impact Arena this evening.

The cancellation also affects scheduled performances in Hong Kong on Thursday, Seoul on Saturday, Tokyo on Monday, Osaka next Tuesday and Abu Dhabi on Friday. Sir Tom had already cancelled a date in Manila just a few hours before he was due on stage on Saturday and cited the same reason.

ThaiTicketMajor was the ticketing agent for the concert in Bangkok. In a notice posted on its website, ThaiTicketMajor said customers who had paid cash for tickets could apply for refunds at any of its Bangkok outlets before 30 April. The notice added that people who had paid by credit card would get their refunds automatically.
