Bangkok IMPACT events venue to expand facilities

The operator of Bangkok’s largest events venue has announced that its amenities will be expanded in the very near future. The director of the IMPACT Muang Thong Thani Complex’s exhibition team says the plan is to add a theme park, a lifestyle mall, a swimming pool and a marina to the current facilities.

Paul Kanjanapas stated that the centre was going to plough in THB3.5 billion on the expansion. The team have set aside THB200 million to build the lakeside theme park and Mr Kanjanapas said this would allow conference and exhibition attendees to bring their children with them.

He explained that IMPACT was working with the Sanderson Group on the theme park.  The Australian developers have previously coordinated new theme parks in Singapore and Tokyo.

The mall will also be lakeside and will contain a cinema in addition to a collection of dining and shopping outlets. Accor is due to open its ibis Bangkok IMPACT Hotel in the complex later in 2016. This establishment will add 587 rooms to those offered by the nearby Eastin Lakeside and Novotel IMPACT hotels.

The IMPACT Muang Thong Thani is the venue of choice for exhibition organisers and hosts popular annual events such as the Bangkok International Motor Show. The IMPACT Arena has an audience capacity of 12,000 and is Thailand’s concert stage. The likes of Elton John, Blondie and Maroon 5 have graced IMPACT’s stage.
