Airport of Bangkok is ready for floods

While a lot of provinces of Thailand are under the water after heavy rain and some typhoons the Authority of Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok held a great job preparing it for floods.

As Rawewan Netrakavesna, general manager of Airport reported, “it surrounded by a 23.5-kilometre dyke at 3.5 metres in height and three metres in width. The base of the dyke is 37 metres wide.”

The officials also control water level in the canals around Suvarnabhumi. For emergency Airport is supplied with two pump stations with combined drainage capacity of 12 cubic metres/second.
