Karawang Airport to be built in Indonesia next year

The construction of the much-anticipated Karawang International Airport will start in 2014 year. It would help to support the Indonesia’s main gateway of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

The construction of the much-anticipated Karawang International Airport will start in 2014 year as project preparation has entered its final stage.

New Airport would help to support the Indonesia’s main gateway of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in the west of Jakarta, which serves more than 57 million passengers per year with planned capacity up to 22 million.

Karawang Airport will be supplied with four runways and two jumbo terminals to ensure capacity around 70 million passengers per year. It is just one part of the government’s plan to build 14 new airports until 2025 year.
