Kuala Lumpur gears up for City Grand Prix racing

City authorities in Kuala Lumpur are gearing up for the inaugural City Grand Prix scheduled for the weekend after next. Media sources in the Malaysian capital city say up to 100,000 spectators are expected to attend the three-day event scheduled to kick off on 7 August.

The city circuit is 3.25kms long and follows a course near Kuala Lumpur City Park with Jalan Ampang as one of the main thoroughfares. The start and finish points are outside the KLCC Suria Mall. The circuit features 16 curves and has been rated as a Grade 3 course by racing’s regulatory bodies.

GT Global Race is behind this first city road racing extravaganza and says cars expected to strut their stuff on the track include Porsche Carreras, Lamborghinis and Audi R8s. Highlights for car enthusiasts are a V8 supercar exhibition and the opportunity of admiring these kings of the road at close quarters.

Race heats and events associated with the Kuala Lumpur City Grand Prix are scheduled to take place between 7 and 9 August 2015. Race tickets are available from GT Global Race and tickets for bus travel from Thailand to Kuala Lumpur from the 12GO ASIA website.
