New Bangkok MahaNakhon skyscraper almost ready for occupancy

The developers in charge of the construction of Thailand’s newest skyscraper say they are just finishing off the project. The 77-storey MahaNakhon Tower is a contemporary architectural delight and soars above downtown Bangkok’s Narathiwat-Ratchanakarin Road.

Pace Development Corporation is managing the THB22 billion development and CEO Sorapoj Techakraisri said work on the exterior of the building is just about done. He noted that artisans were working on the interior units and said residents and commercial enterprises would be able to start moving in at the end of 2015.

The 314-meter MahaNakhon Tower is the focal point of the project and is 10 metres taller than the erstwhile highest building in the country, the Baiyoke II Tower. MahaNakhon Square lies alongside the tower which is a mixed residential-hotel structure.

The Ritz-Carlton Residences occupy one section of the tower and comprise a portfolio of 207 opulent units with between two and five bedrooms. They have David Collins designed interiors and glass walls giving sweeping views of Bangkok. The Marriott-operated Bangkok Edition Hotel will offer guests a choice of 159 rooms equipped with every amenity and the same wonderful vistas.
