Free bicycle service is launched in Bangkok

Inspired by Bangkok Car Free Day, which was held in the Thai capital on 22 September, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration took a decision to offer free bicycle in the historical center of the city during all year.

Inspired by Bangkok Car Free Day, which was held in the Thai capital on 22 September, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration took a decision to offer free bicycle in the historical center of the city during all year.

Now foreign tourists and local people are able to visit the main sights of Bangkok by bicycles from one of the 20 stations. In eastern bank there are: the Royal Field or Sanam Luang square, BMA’s tourism office, Pra Sumen Fort and the Giant Swing. In the western bank: Wat Arun or the Temple of Dawn and Rama I Bridge.

Each station has 20 vehicles, which are available from 10.00 to 18.00 on Monday to Friday, and from 09.00 to 19.00 on the weekends. Each comer has to deposit its Thai ID card or a passport until return bicycle to the respective station.
