He explained that the bus fleet additions would offer the latest environmentally-friendly technology and run on CNG (compressed natural gas). The new route will skirt the northeast suburbs of Ho Chi Minh City and link Binh Duong New City to Suoi Tien Amusement Park.
Tokyu is collaborating with Binh Duong based Becamex on the project for the 30km long route. The estimated cost of establishing the route and providing the vehicles for it is US$160 million. Before the project can go ahead, municipal authorities in Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh have to give it an official seal of approval.
The first bus routes established by the Becamex-Tokyu were inaugurated last December. The Kaze Shuttle operates Route 51 and 52 services from Binh Duong to Thu Dau Mot and Nguyen Khuyen.
On advertisements for the Becamex-Tokyu bus services, the company states that it brings Japanese punctuality, high-quality service levels and safety to the people of Vietnam. The ads also say kaze translates from Japanese to English as wind and the breeze provides convenient transportation options for people from Binh Duong and its environs.

A major Japanese transport corporation has announced it will provide ongoing support for bus services in a southern Vietnamese province. The president of Tokyu Corp, Koshimura Toshiaki, told reporters that assistance would come in the form of gas-powered buses and backing for new routes.
