Iligan Hotels, Guesthouses and Resorts

The accommodation options in Iligan are somewhat limited. While the area boasts plenty of budget options for shoe-string backpackers, and many high-end resorts, there are unfortunately not many options for those looking for middle-range hotels.

Even so, if you want to find a middle-range hotel, you just need to know where to look and you will be able to find one.

Another thing to keep in mind is that many of these hotels aren’t chains, and are more mom-and-pop establishments. As a result, many are not available on online booking agencies such as Expedia or Kayak. Instead, you may need to email or call the actual hotels in order to make reservations.

Additionally, many of the lodging options in Iligan, even the nicest ones, do not get particularly good reviews, so perhaps coming into the situation with low expectations is the best way to approach hotels in Iligan. In fact, even the best-rated hotel in Iligan only gets three of five stars on TripAdvisor.

Top End

Starting with the most expensive choices, Cheradel Suites on Brother Jeffrey Road are serviced apartments with a pool in the yard. Rooms here range from single twin rooms to presidential suites where they have events like weddings. However, if you’re thinking about paying for the presidential suite, be prepared to shell out PHP9000 though there are three different bedrooms and a dining room. The gardens around the hotel give it a nice plantation-like vibe. Even though these are serviced apartments, the Cheradel Suites still feature all the traditional services of a four-star hotel like free internet, concierge, restaurant and bar.

Mid-Range

Corporate Inn is an accommodation meant for business travellers but may be suitable for all types, as they feature good service and free wifi. Both single and double occupancy rooms are available and breakfast is included, though you have to order it in advance. A single room can be booked for PHP750 and the hotel is located in Isabel Village.

StayLite Suites is located on Champaca Street, in San Miguel Village in the Pala-o neighbourhood of Iligan. It holds nearly 60 rooms all of which feature their own restrooms and air-conditioning. The hotel features its own 24-hour security and a restaurant. In addition, there is free WiFi at the site as well as Television stations and free luggage storage and parking. Rooms are around PHP1000 nightly during the low season.

Budget

If you’re looking for a cheaper option, try checking out the Famous Pension House on Brgy. San Miguel. They offer both single and double rooms and each room features its own restroom and cable television. Free WiFi is also available, and rooms can be had for PHP300 to PHP350 nightly.

A basic hotel located in the heart of Iligan is Plaza Alemania Hotel. It has been reported that during the recent conflict between ISIS-linked groups and the Filipino government, this is where all of the journalists who were reporting on the story stayed. If you want to stay where foreign media stays when they come to Iligan, this is your spot. It’s a non-smoking hotel, so you won’t have to worry about getting a smoky room. It has free wifi and parking as well as a bar and restaurant, and rooms range from between PHP600-PHP1000. If you’re traveling as a family, there are also family rooms available for rent.

There are also many options in Iligan to do a homestay, where you will stay with a local family while exploring the city. This will provide you with a very authentic experience and is an interesting alternative.
