Miri Hotels, Guesthouses and Resorts

Accommodation in Miri is very well represented and varied. As impressive as the range in cultural cosines is the range of accommodation available to the weary traveller. All budgets, preferences and ideas of aesthetic beauty are represented at an overall very reasonable market price.

Budget

While My Homestay Guesthouse does not provide the absolutely cheapest rate for a room for the night, they offer great services that make the MYR 45 well worth it. Free breakfast - Yeah! The twenty four hour desk puts any unease about middle of the night arrivals to sleep, free WiFi throughout the property means you'll be surfing from the comfort of your room, air-conditioning means you can bear to touch the covers during an afternoon nap, and bikes and cars for rental means getting around couldn't be any easier. The property is a fantastic option for any traveller prepared to pay slightly above the absolute minimum market rate.

With less of the bells and whistles and clear focus on offering an affordable, basic, but very comfortable night's stay is the M Empire Hotel. Rooms are available for as little at MYR 30 a night. Amenities that make this a bargain include air-con in the room, a tv to wind-down to and very clean, but shared bathrooms.

The Highlands Backpackers is a similarly priced option better suited to the individual traveller. MYR 25 includes a bed in a very comfortable, WiFi enveloped, air-conditioned room. The hostel is very well located, just a two-minute walk way from Imperial mall!

Mid-Range

The Eastwood Valeey Golf and Country Club is at the height of quality of mid-range accommodations. The timber chalets are nestled amongst the holes of the golf course, surrounded by luscious greens and calming backdrops. The country club is well equipped with activities for the physically inclined - a fully equipped sports centre, swimming pool and gym. All the hard work can be appropriately followed up with a sit down in the sauna, or a dip in the jaccuzi. Rooms begin at MYR 110 per night.

Arguably one of the most beautiful accommodations, the Treetops Jungle Lodge is nestled in amongst the trees, exuding a peaceful ambience. Just a 15-minute walk away from Siwak Beach, the lodge is in a great location. The rooms go for around MYR 90 a night, which when considering the amenities provided at the lodge, is very affordable. Air-conditioning, free breakfast, a balcony, wood-panelled walls, private bathroom and a pool all sound pretty great to me. Centrally located to the beach, caves and the airport, this accommodation is really a standout mid-range option.

Top End

The Miri Marriott Resort and Spa is a truly fantastic option for those with a taste for splendour. The hotel is luxurious, has expansive views over the sea and a fantastic pool to lounge in and around in the lazy afternoon hours. The rooms are spacious and elegant – 24-hour room service sounds pretty good too. The spa is top notch - they deliver soothing treatments and massages at expensive, but understandable rates. Rooms begin at MYR 170 and end up at MYR 320 a night.

The Meritz Hotel is well known establishment. It extremely well located, two minutes on foot from Bintang Megamall in central Miri. The hotel provides a quality experience for travellers seeking the slightly higher end of accommodations. The rooms are everything you want, and are very spacious and comfortable. There is an outside pool too. A great option for your first night in town as the hotel has a 24-hour front desk and many fantastic restaurants in the surrounding area. Rooms begin at around MYR 140 and head up to around MYR 220.
