Pagudpud Things to Do

One of the best kept secrets in the North, Pagudpud may seem a sleepy town defined by its pastoral lands and unspoiled beaches. However, there's more to do here than just snapping photos and lazing on the beach.

World’s Longest Zipline

Love aerial adventures? At 1.2 kilometres, check out the world's longest zipline across open water at Hannah's Beach Resort (Brgy. Balaoi, Sitio Malingay, Pagudpud). It was unlike any of the zip line experiences we'd had before and the thrill it gives you is simply unrivalled. It might seem daunting at first considering its length and we were worried that we'd change our mind midway and panic or get stuck or something. But, we worried over nothing. We enjoyed it so much we felt like it was over too soon. The ride just lasted about a minute and a half but the good thing is it wasn't too fast so we were able to appreciate the breath-taking scenery from above. Adrenaline junkie or not, give yourself the thrill of a lifetime for only PHP800 (sitting) or PHP900 (Superman).

Water Sports

Not enough adventure for a day? There's more to be had at King Fisher’s Resort (Sitio Ayoyo, Brgy. Caparispisan, Pagudpud). The sea here can be both rugged or calm so it's perfect for water sport adventures such as wind surfing or paddling. This resort offers an array of packages that suit any budget and skill level.

Rates for kite surfing start at PHP2500 while paddling starts at PHP1500. You can also rent a board and paddle for PHP600 or kayak and paddle for PHP500. Although not known as a snorkelling destination, the waters still boast an abundant marine life which you can explore better if you rent their snorkelling gear for only PHP150.

Kabigan Waterfalls

The salty water and the wind starting to bore you? Visit Kabigan Falls (Brgy. Balaoi, Malingay, Pagudpud) for a change of the scenery and a chance to cool down in the bosom of nature. Getting there involves trekking for about half an hour over mainly a flat and wide trail and once you reach the falls you will be rewarded for your efforts.

The refreshingly cold water quickly erases any memory of the aforementioned hike. When you get here, you will be required to pay an environmental fee of PHP20 as well as to get a guide for PHP50. You can give more if you're feeling generous. Overall, the lush forest and the scenic view on the way there are reasons enough to include this in your itinerary.

Aqua Grande River

Can't get enough of the invigorating mountain water? Aqua Grande serves as the mediator between the cool spring water that spills over from the mountain and the salt water from the South China Sea. This river is truly a welcome respite from the heat and humidity as it's shaded by coconut trees so its the perfect picnic spot for friends and families. Entrance fee is a minimal PHP25, there are no restaurants here so pack your own food and drinks. Still a bit under the radar but maybe not for long, the boulders and relaxing cold water can really soothe tired bodies and weary minds.

Kayaking on Bulu River

If you're a kayaking enthusiast, you're in for a treat. Bulu, the river that separates Pagudpud and Bangui offers an adrenaline pumping experience like no other. It's a 20-kilometre playground where you can shoot the rapids or just submerge yourself in its refreshing waters. Perfect especially on a scorching hot day. Don't get overexcited yet though. The thing is, there are neither rental places nor tour packages at this time so you will have to supply your own kayak and safety gears. Don't get too disappointed if you don't own one, there's always the aforementioned King Fisher's Resort for your adrenaline fix.
