Things to Do on Boracay Island

When in Boracay, you can pretty much forget the outside world. Besides the insta-worthy environment, the island also offers a gazillion of activities that will keep you blissfully busy for days. Here, we summarize a few things that are sure to give you that ultimate summer experience.

Water Sports Activities/ Island Hopping

Island hopping has got to be the most popular activity on the island. And for a good reason. Tours normally last around 5 to 6 hours and take you to nearby islands and beaches like Puka Beach, Crocodile Island, Crystal and West Cove, Magic Island, or Balinghai Beach for some exploring or snorkelling.

Rates start at PHP700/pax for group tours. You can also charter a boat for anywhere between PHP1,000 to PHP3,500/boat. Please be advised that rates depend on the season.

Mermaid Swimming

If you've ever dreamed of becoming a mermaid, now it is your chance to make your dream come true. The Philippine Mermaid Swimming Academy offer several types of courses with rates starting from PHP2,000 to PHP3,200. If you're not keen on spending that much, you can simply opt for a mermaid photo opportunity package at only PHP1,000. Be sure that the image of you on a monofin against the postcard perfect shoreline will strike your friends’ imagination.

Please note that classes are held on the beach from Mid October to June and in a pool from July to October.

Helmet Diving

This is another activity that we enjoyed immensely. It's a real fun, but it requires a considerable amount of effort, too. For as little as PHP600, you'll have brightly colloured fishes swimming all around you while you have your photos and video taken by the tour operator.

Adrenaline-pumping activities

If you're a thrill-seeker, you definitely should not miss Reverse Bungee (GMAX), it's an extreme ride that can be found only in Singapore and Boracay. Get your dose of adrenaline rush for PHP1,500/pax. The ride lasts only about a minute which feels like a lifetime as you hang suspended in mid-air. We recommend trying this around sunset to get a breath-taking view of the island.

Another favourite among daredevils is the cliff diving activity which Ariel's Point is famous for. You can take a day trip for PHP2,000/pax which includes a boat cruise, lunch, snacks, unlimited drinks, cliff diving, snorkelling, and kayaking. It would be like embarking on an adventure cruise with some booze and a whole lot of fun!

Pub crawling

Even if you're not a self-proclaimed party animal, you're bound to have the time of your life by joining one of the most exciting activities in Boracay – pub crawling. More than just club hopping, the whole thing aims to bringing strangers together for more than 3 hours of pure fun and social interaction. For PHP690 to PHP990/pax, it's a really nice way to go out and meet new friends.

Cooking classes

If partying is not your thing then perhaps you'd rather indulge in cooking classes? Fortunately, We Cook Local can take you under its wing for some lip smacking time in the kitchen. They're offering a day class which normally takes about 4 - 5 hours for PHP2,000/pax as well as an evening class for PHP1,500/pax for 2.5 - 3 hours. If you prefer one-on-one classes, you have an option to go for a private 4 -5 hours session for PHP,000/2 pax.

A typical class starts at the local market to procure fresh produce and then to the countryside to whip up delicious Filipino dishes.

These are just but a small fraction of the numerous activities available on the island. Whatever you do, make sure to drop in at one of the many massage shops located along White Beach. Reasonably priced at PHP300 - PHP500 per hour, it is the perfect way to conclude an eventful day.
