Angeles City Hotels, Guesthouses and Resorts

The continuous economic boom that Angeles has been experiencing in recent years can be attributed largely to the development of Clark Special Economic Zone. Add the presence of the Clark International Airport into the equation and we can surmise that the city of Angeles sees a steady influx of both business and leisure travellers. This also means that you're sure to be spoiled by the seemingly infinite choices of accommodation.

Budget

We were surprised to find a budget hotel with a nice little pool but that's exactly what Daniela's Place Apartelle has to offer (315 Pinatubo St. Clarkview Malabanias). They have decent facilities for such an inexpensive accommodation. They have a billiard table, a shared kitchen and cooking facilities in the room. The in-house bar also offers a good selection of drinks at very reasonable prices. In fact, we loved that we got a free beer on arrival! There's free drinking water and coffee in the morning. The location is away from the main gate with all the bars which can be both a pro or a con depending on which type of traveller you are. But we liked that we are on the quieter side of the city but not too far off either. They have a fan room for 699PHP and air conditioned rooms from 829PHP to 899PHP exclusive of a 12% tax. Each room type can accommodate up to a maximum of 2 persons.

If you must be near the entertainment district then stay at Hotel Saleh (Narciso Avenue Corner, 22nd Street, Fields). It is located right in the middle of the red light district so it's not exactly ideal if you're travelling with family. However, all other sights and attractions of the city are really accessible, too. It is actually close to lots of restaurants, jeepney terminals, and just a few minutes drive from the airport and within a walking distance from SM City Clark. The room is spartan but for its price, it's well worth it. Rates at this hotel start at 792PHP plus a 12% tax.

Mid-Range

For the mid-range category, we were absolutely pleasantly surprised with the Queens Hotel Angeles City (1136 Tinio St. Corner Constine St. Balibago, Angeles City). We loved hanging out at the 7th floor bar, looking out at the balcony at night, and the outdoor pool. The food at RBI steakhouse is so good we hardly felt inclined to eat anywhere else and the best thing is that you can have your meals served in the privacy of your room! There's a gym, too, but we never got to try it. Location wise, it's close to everything. The rooms are spacious and are full of modern amenities. Room rates are between 3,650PHP to 4,800PHP.

Another superb stay is guaranteed by the Central Park Tower Resort ( 888 Lourdes Street, Balibago ). We were impressed by its elegant interior and classy design. The roof deck area offers an incredible view of the city and boasts an infinity pool, a bar, and a restaurant. A night here would cost you anywhere between 3,650PHP to 4,800PHP.

Top End

If you're a guy travelling solo or with friends, we recommend ABC Hotel for a lavish stay (Don Juico Avenue, Malabanias Angeles City, Pampanga). It's more like an exclusive gentleman's club than a posh hotel with an awesome pool and a bar. The restaurant is a bonus and the staff were polite and accommodating. Expect to pay around 7,000PHP to 13,000PHP per night.

If you're in the city for business or holidaying with family then we suggest your staying at the Lewis Grand Hotel instead (Don Juico Avenue, Clarkview ). We really like the ambiance at this hotel. It makes you feel like you are entering a resort rather than a hotel in the midst of a busy city. The staff and crew were friendly and it's also near all the shopping malls, restaurants, and bars. Rooms and suites are priced between 4000PHP to 17,000PHP without taxes.
