Pyin U Lwin Myanmar – Best Places to Eat

Pyin U Lwin has a good selection of eateries although you may find that there is more of an emphasis here on Indian food than in other parts of Myanmar thanks to the Indian population that is based in the town.

Another Indian choice in Pyin U Lwin is Krishna Restaurant which is located being the Grace Hotel II and serves a wide range of Indian dishes. Some of the plates you can expect include lentil curries as well as chapattis and tasty yoghurt based drinks like lassi.

Dinner with a View

If you are in search of some more upscale dining in Pyin U Lwin then you can head for The Club Terrace which is a nice restaurant close to the golf club on Club Road. The menu serves a range of dishes but the emphasis is on Malay and Thai food. With that in mind, expect toothsome curries as well as salads and fried snacks. This restaurant is a little more expensive than some other choices in town but they have English menus and the ambiance is more serene than many of the smaller cafes.

They do a buffet lunch for MMK 15,000 and you can choose from a range of rice, soup, salad and vegetable dishes. They also do delicious vegetarian samosas.

Bars and Cafes

Finally, if you are looking for a place to get a drink in the evening in Pyin U Lwin then consider trying Woodlands Cafe which is in the south of the town in the direction of the famous gardens. Here you can get cold beer and Pyin U Lwin is also known for its local grape wine which is made with grapes that are grown on the various plantations in the local area.

This part of Myanmar is also known for its coffee plantations and Woodlands Cafe also serves up a range of coffee based drinks or juices if you prefer. Another reason to come here is that they have good working Wi-Fi which can’t be said of many other spots in town.
