Tioman Island Hotels and Resorts

Tioman Island with its swirling blue and green ocean currents, pristine beaches and excellent diving, entices all travellers who are in search of tropical paradise.

Unlike many other tropical paradises, Tioman Island has yet to be invaded or disturbed by mass tourism which means that there are accommodation options that suit all budgets. While there are an abundance of lodging options that won’t break the bank, getting around the island can get somewhat pricy so it makes sense to select an area that best matches your needs and preferences. Tekek, Salang, Air Batang and Juara are the areas that you will need to decide on.

Badget

The majority of Tioman Island’s backpacker spots can be found to the north, with plenty of cheap chalets and huts in Salang and Air Batang.

For backpackers on a budget in Juara, Juara Mutiara Resort on the eastern coast of Tioman is a fine spot to catch some Z’s. All rooms have an attached bathroom and guests can opt for either a fan or air-con during their stay. A white, sandy beach and gently swaying coconut trees are your front yard when staying at Juara Mutiara Resort. Budget rooms start at MYR 80 per night while a double chalet including breakfast and air-con will set you back MYR 160. The resort also offers excellent packages which include boat services, fishing, snorkelling and transport services, and are excellent value for money.

Two other budget friendly spots can be found in Salang Village. Salang Pusaka Resort has a warm, cheerful atmosphere, lively nightlife and is conveniently located near the popular and delicious Salang Dreams Restaurant. The rooms are basic and clean and have a well-maintained garden in front of the chalets as well as hot water showers. Room rates start from MYR 140 per night.

Hitting the backpacker jackpot is Salang Indah Resort which offers one of the most affordable packages on all of Tioman Island. This unassuming resort along Salang Beach is closer to the sea than Salang Pusaka Resort and is a convenient minute’s walk to the jetty. With the airy restaurant and convenience store on site in combination with the very nearby beach and dive shops, this resort seems to have it all. Salang Indah Resort has arguably the most diverse room options on the island ranging from fan-rooms to deluxe bungalows with gorgeous sea views. Room rates start from an affordable MYR 60 per night and go into the mid-range price bracket at around MYR 380.

Mid-Range

Another mid-range accommodation option just so happens to be one of the first chalets on Tioman Island. Swiss Cottage is set on a peaceful beach in front of a reef which offer guests rustic chalets, bungalows or terrace rooms, all of which have balconies offering a sea or garden view, hot water, en suite bathrooms, unlimited free drinking water and complimentary breakfast. The double garden-view chalets are MYR 170, sea-view bungalows are MYR 250 and the terraced rooms are MYR 160 per night. This spot guarantees its guests an enjoyable, peaceful and memorable stay here on Tioman.

Top End

Raising the bar on luxury, Bagus Place is the ideal place for honeymooners or travellers craving supreme comfort during their stay on Tioman. With nine luxurious huts built onto smooth boulders with all-natural materials, and set under a canopy of ancient trees, this resort is an enchanting and tranquil sanctuary for its guests. Bagus Place offers couple rooms, family rooms and even a tree house all equipped with mosquito nets, air-con, a mini fridge, hot water and exquisite ocean views. Bagus Place offers all-inclusive packages which are priced at MYR 495 per adult, per night. This rate includes two-way transfers to and from the resort, all meals, welcome drink, all soft drinks and mineral water as well as room cleaning. Paradise perfection personified.
