As a rule, it is not possible to choose a ticket class when travelling by van. Yet you can check with the operator and/or choose the type of van which serves your route. Some vans seat only 9-10 passengers, others accommodate up to 15 travellers. - It is worth checking if your van runs on schedule or leaves when full – in the latter case you may end up waiting too long as on several routes it can take quite a time for a van to fill up.
- You should know that van drivers are notorious for their speedy driving. Even the most reputable companies sometimes fail to persuade the drivers to respect the speed limits. Even if your van driver does not insist on it, always buckle your seatbelt while travelling by van
- If you easily get seasick and your trip includes winding stretches, chances to feel motion sickness are higher while travelling by van than by bus. Take your medicine half an hour before your trip to be on the safe side.

WhatsApp communication was excellent. We booked the minibus but as we were the only people who had booked our particular service, they sent a car instead. A photo of the car and contact number for the driver was sent to me in advance. The car was comfortable and we arrived in good time.

The driver was 1.5 hours late due to traffic. High traffic seems to be normal in Kandy. So in my eyes, the operator should update the timings on 12go for other travelers not to miss their flight. Luckily, I still got my flight as I planned enough time ahead.

I arrived at the meeting point as agreed, 30 minutes before departure. When no bus had arrived even 20 minutes after the scheduled time and I contacted the company, a different vehicle than the one I had booked suddenly showed up (a private car instead of a bus). The driver couldn’t explain how he got my number or whether he was from the company. As a woman traveling alone, this was rather frightening.
Nevertheless, the driver was kind and courteous and took me safely to the hostel.

The driver turned up an hour and a half late. He then was upset about picking me up from my homestay and wasn’t very nice to me at all. We were later than expected but that’s normal in Sri Lanka. They did drive safe.

I received a phone call asking me to come to the meeting point 30 minutes earlier, at 1:30. However, we didn’t actually depart until after 2:00. As a result, I had to wait for more than 30 minutes inside a car with the engine revving. I get motion sickness, so this was extremely uncomfortable for me.
Also, the vehicle was not a van like the one shown on the 12Go website, but a regular passenger car. There are around 100 ordinary cars parked in front of the World Trade Center, and I had to walk around searching for it for over 10 minutes. There should be a visible logo, or the driver should stand outside holding a sign or a flag.

They were supposed to pick us up at 7:00 a.m., but the car didn’t arrive until 7:30. I was extremely thirsty and really needed to use the restroom. After that, we were taken to a tea factory and ended up spending 30 minutes there.
I was supposed to arrive at 10:40, but instead we were dropped off in front of the Nuwara Eliya post office and told it would be a 30-minute break. I couldn’t take it anymore, so I walked to my hotel carrying my heavy luggage...

Driver was safe and did his best given the traffic conditions. Sadly we weren't able to do any of the site seeing stops to time stuck in traffic but he ensured we all got dropped off to our relevant hotels on arrival.

No information on time, waiting on the street without any information past booked time was not nice. Driver took us to Spice garden without our consent - we have to strongly insist that we need to get to Kandy, not waste our time. Driver tried very hard to take us to our hotel, though it was late and dark.

It was not close to be on time. Mentioned pick up time in Kandy was the same for all guests. So some of them had to wait for almost an hour.
Arrival time was late too, almost 2 hours.

We didn’t stopped at the mentioned stations. Only stopp was tea factory. The group didn’t buy something and they weren’t happy/friendly anymore. We waited 1,5h for picking up other people.
