John AThere was confusion at the ticket counter when I showed her a copy of the email I got confirming. Another woman in the office helped to explain it. When we got to Koh Samet Pier we were quite confused. The description of the boat ride said it was 40 minutes and it only took 10 minutes. It took me quite a while to accept that we were on the right boat at the right pier. I don’t understand how everyone isn’t confused by that when they arrive.

Andrew HNo problems at all, service good. Getting on and off was a bit tricky especially for the more elderly so a member of staff should be there to help. I helped many people on myself.

Cecilia GI've bought the ticket for fast bout at 8. The lady at the "reception" told me "it leaves at 8.30": what?? Ticket for 8 o clock and she says at 8.30? Why?? Then, we left at 8.50... bad! 50 minutes late!

Vincent GThere are serious issues here.
First, the access to/from the boat is terrible, i.e. very dangerous. 2 shaky planks to cross at Ban Phe for any passengers with luggage is a challenge. 2 guys help a bit from the boat but they might not avoid a fall…
At the arrival in Nadan, it is not much safer to disembark but there are stone steps.
A much better safety system for embarking/disembarking is badly required.
Maybe a visit to developed countries to see how they handle the embarking/disembarking safety issue would be useful.
Maybe also the heavy luggage should be checked-in separately, like for planes…
Second, the boat itself looks and sounds old (I have seen the same kind of boats for many years).
In this case, the engine stopped after 20 min at sea with no information given on board… Hopefully, it lasted a few minutes and nobody panicked… Not a word was said from the beginning to the end. Maybe bots could do the job…
